Stocking and Garter hat pattern

Stocking and Garter hat - designed by Karn, created by Marnie.

Using super bulky yarn and 8mm needles, CO 60 stitches, using the long tail cast on method.

There are two options for this hat. Your choice will depend on how you feel about working purl rows.

If working option two, when casting on, leave enough yarn to sew a 12cm seam.

Option one:
Join work and knit one row.
Place a marker and purl the next row
Next row, Knit to marker
Next row, Purl to marker.

Repeat these two rows until work measures 12cms.

Option two:
Knit every row, until work measures 12cms.

Options one and two are the same form here on:
Join work. Knit every row, until work measures 21cms.

Work crown.
Place marker, *K8, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
Knit the next row and every alternate row.
*K7, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
*K6, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
*K5, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
*K4, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
*K1, K2tog, K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
*K2tog. Repeat from * to Marker.
