My name is Karen and I've been knitting since I was about five or six years old. 

I was born and raised in Birmingham, England and now live in Norway.

This blog has been a mess for years so apologise for any frustration that may have caused.

It started out as HattieMyLove many years ago. 

Before Instagram and Ravelry, it was a place for me to keep track of my projects, 

with a detailed account of what I'd done, so that I could do it again, if I wanted to.

I tried to make those detailed accounts of my projects as clear as possible, 

so that anyone else reading it could also follow the instructions. 

And so the 'free patterns' were born. 

But they were never really patterns in the true sense of the word - no gauge, for example. 

But the more experience I got of keeping track, the better these 'patterns' became.

At some point, I decided to change the name of the blog form HattieMyLove to Karn Knits. 

In hindsight, that was a mistake. It would have been a much better idea to just start a new blog, 

because I didn't realise that giving birth to Karn Knits would kill Hattie. 

That was a sad day.

Now that I'm turning this hobby into a source of income, I need to polish everything up 

and make it look professional. 

This process is a lot more complicated than I anticipated! 

There are links all over the world wide web to Karn Knits patterns which claim to be free. 

(Those links are either dead or they link to a pattern that is no longer free. 

There are even still links to the HattieMyLove blog!) 

Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about that. 

If you ever come across a dead link, please let me know.

Hopefully, over the coming months, everything will look shipshape and Bristol fashion!
